Ncumisa Nongogo holds a B. Juris and LLB degrees from the University of Transkei ( now WSU) and the University of Natal ( now UKZN) respectively. She was admitted as an attorney in 1997 and she has been practicing for her own account as a partner and then director at Malusi and Company attorneys in East London since 2004. In 2007 she was admitted as a Conveyancer. She runs a general practice covering most areas of the law. She is passionate about access to the profession by women, the training and mentoring of young lawyers. She has been an instructor at LEAD for over 10 years.
She has also been involved in the governance structures of the legal profession and is the chairperson of the Eastern Cape of the Legal Practice Council. She is also a member of the national executive committee of the National Association of Democratic Lawyers. She is also an active member of the South African Women Lawyers Association whose objectives are to facilitate the full participation of women in the legal profession. She always participates in the access to justice activities by providing free legal services to communities in our rural communities of the Eastern Cape.
